how to make mrichi ka salan

Mrichi Ka Salan Recipe

Mrichi Ka Salan  is a curry very famous from Hyderabad and Telangana which is usually eat with Baraga Rice Mutton Biryani and Chicken Biryani

Ingredients :

1. Oil 100ml

2.Medium size onion 1

3.Small size Green chilli 15

4.Bajji Mrichi 6

5.Big size tomato 1

6.Curry leaves Mint leaves Cordiner Leaves 1cup

7.Ginger gralic paste 2tsp

8.Tamarind 25gms

9.Turmeric 1tsp


Garam Masala :

Cinnmon 2

Cardamom 2

Cloves 4

Shahjeer 1/2tps

Methi seeds 1/4tsp

Jeer 1tps

Dhaniya seeds 2tps

Kalonji seeds 1/4tps

kasoori methi 1tps

Garam Masala Powder (any) 1/4tps

Chat masala 1/2tps

Amachur Powder 1/2tps

White Till 50gms

Ground Nut 50gms

Cocnut Powder 100gms


Method :

1.Take small size green chillies and wash it then add them into mixer now add 1tps slat blend  it and keep it a side. 

2.Take a pan and roast groundnut about 50g for 1min add coconut about 50g dhaniya  seeds , jeera cardamon  , cinnmon , cloves , shahjeer and til and add them into mixer.  

3.Blend into a smooth paste now add gram masala, amachur, chat masala , and little water  then blend it.

4.Cut vegtables mentioned in  the ingredients and keep a side .

5.Take a pan keep it on the stove and add oil into to it then add methi seeds , kalonji seeds and  saute next add onions, curry leaves  and saute it on medium flame . 

6.Now add bajji mrichi mix it well and add chilli paste to it add tumeric , ginger gralic             paste to it.

7.Cook for 1min and add masala paste into it and mix it well . 

8.Make sure that flame should be on medium.

9.Make sure that paste should not stick to the pan.

10.Paste will live oil then it is half cooked .

11.Add tamarind juice and cook it for 10min on low flame, add tomato to it and cook it for      5mins


Mrichi ka salan is ready serve it with bagara rice or mutton biryani or chicken biryani .
