how to make bagara rice

Bagara Rice Recipe

Bagara Rice is a very famous rice dish of hyderabad dish . Locally, it has many names like Bagara Chawal, Bagara Annam or Bagara Khana or Plain Biryani

Ingredients :

1.Rice 4 cups

2.Medium Size Onion 1

3.Green Chilly 5

4.Mint Leafs

5.Coriander Leafs

6.Ginger Gralic paste 1tsp

7.Salt 1/4tsp

8.Oil 45ml

9.Water 8cups


Whole Garam Masala :

Bay leaf 2

Cardamom 2

Cloves 4

Cinnamon 2

Shahjeer 1/2tsp

Pathra ke phool (Stone Flower) 1

Kabab Chini 1tsp


Tips :

Wash the rice 2 or 3 times. 

Soak the rice for 30mins.


Method :

1.Take a Handi( a deep narrow mouthed vessel ) keep it on the  stove and heat it.

2. Add 45ml oil then add whole garam masala in handi and saute them.

3. Now add onions , green chilli , mint , coriander leafs saute the whole thing .

4.Now add ginger garlic paste into the handi and fry it properly.

5.Add 7-8 cups of water and 1/2 tsp salt.

6.When it starts boiling add 4 cups of rice into handi and cook it in high flame for 5mins.

7.Now cover it with lid and slow the flame.

8.Cook it for 5mins then take of  the lid .

9. Bagara rice is ready , serve it in a bowl or a plate
